We are still in need of a critter for this year! The generous donor makes a tax-deductible gift and the museum generates some much needed revenue to be used for a variety of projects and activities. If you or anyone you know might be interested, here are some of the criteria:

We’d like an Appaloosa that is obviously Appaloosa in appearance; whatever the age, we’d really like to have a horse that is broke to lead, tie, haul, groom, etc. and free of know genetic issues. The donor would be responsible for a vet check for soundness and routine health requirements. If a riding horse, it should be suitable for a wide range of potential new owners.

The donated horse would not need to travel until the raffle drawing (usually October). Delivery arrangements will up to you and the new owner.

Anyone interested in helping the cause can reply here or contact the Appaloosa Museum directly. Crystal White is the museum director and would be delighted to visit with you about the process. Her phone # 208.882.5578 ext. 279 and her email: museum@appaloosa.com. Thanks!

We call it the FPD Pedigree. This new pedigree is very much like our recently added Color and Points pedigrees only it lists the FPD Eligibility status and percentages of the primary horse and all horses in its 3 generation pedigree.

The cost of this pedigree is $10. If a user selects a horse that does not contain any FPD information within its pedigree the web page display a blank pedigree and inform the user that no data exists for the selected horse. They will not be charged for the pedigree if no data is found.

The actually FPD Pedigree description seen online is as follows:
Lists the Registration Number, Foal Date, Sex, FPD Eligibility Status and FPD Percentage of the selected horse plus the Names, Registration Number, Foal Date, FPD Eligibility Status and FPD Percentage of all horses in its 3 Generation Pedigree.

The sale fees are as follows:

Performance Permit Sale Fees

Foal date to 24th month foal date:
Appaloosa x Appaloosa…
member $150 non-member $215

Appaloosa x Approved Breed…
member $150 (save $100) non-member $215 (save $100)

25th month and thereafter:
Appaloosa x Appaloosa…
member $150 (save $150) non-member $215 (save $150)

Appaloosa x Approved Breed…
member $200 (save $300) non-member $265 (save $300)

The rationale is probably obvious that we’d like to provide an opportunity for owners of older non-permit horses to do some catching up at a reasonable price. Then, the goal is to get those horses out of the barn and into competition of all sorts where the rest of the world can see more good Appaloosas and their versatility.

We have added the ability to view an example of a report before you buy it. The example consists of an image of the web page that you are considering purchasing. The example image is a static image and will not change from horse to horse. The example image is to show the user what the information on the selected report will look like and does not represent the real data that will be listed. This will allow you to see the type of information that will be listed on the web page before purchase.

To view an example of this function, please perform the following tasks:
1. Sign into the Members Only section of the ApHC website.
2. Click on the Appaloosa Horse Name Search link search for any horse that you desire
3. When you have found your horse click on the View Horse Detail link.
4. Click on the Example link next to the web report that you wish to view.

We have also added 2 new Pedigree reports to the Members Only section of the website. They are as follows:

1. A 3 generation Color Pedigree that will list the Color and Coat Pattern of the selected horse and all of the horses in its 3 generation pedigree. The price of this item is $10.

2. A 3 generation Points Pedigree that will list the Halter & Performance Show Points, plus any Racing Starts, Wins, Place, Show counts, and Racing Money Earned of the selected horse and all horses in its 3 Generation Pedigree. The price of this item is $10.

Pre-printed Breeder’s Certificates/Registration Applications are now available on-line! These applications are commonly referred to as “the blue forms” and in the past were sent by postal service to stallion owners who submitted on-time Stallion Breeding Reports.

QUICK AND CONVENIENT!
On-line, pre-printed Breeder’s Certificates/Registration Applications allow stallion owners the convenience of printing them as soon as their submitted Stallion Breeding Reports are entered in the ApHC data base. Also, a greater number of stallion owners will be able to take advantage of using pre-printed forms since it will be available for everyone, even those submitting late Stallion Breeding Reports.

THE SIMPLE 4-STEP PROCESS!
1. Go to www.appaloosa.com
2. Click on “Member Sign In” and sign into your ApHC Online Member Account. If you have not yet signed up for an online account you can do so by clicking on the “Create Online Account” link on the Member Sign In web page.
3. Click on “My Registration Applications” to view your Breeder’s Certificates/Registration Applications
4. Click on the “View & Print Application” link associated with the horse that you wish to work with to view and print your application. The data printed on the applications is based on information submitted to the ApHC on your 2011 Stallion Breeding Report.

When you print the Breeder’s Certificates/Registration Applications, a “Reminder for Mare Owners” notice will also be printed. This notice reminds mare owners of the importance of registering ApHC-eligible foals resulting from your stallion’s breedings, and updates them with current Rules and Regulations for ApHC-registration.

ADDITIONAL MARE OWNER INFORMATION AVAILABLE!
In an effort to further assist mare owners with the registration process, in some instances additional information will print along with the Breeder’s Certificates/Registration Applications. Please forward this information to mare owners along with the Breeder’s Certificates/Registration Applications and the Reminder to Mare Owners. General Rules and Regulations and a partially completed application for Appaloosa Breeders Trust will also be printed for eligible foals.

If your Stallion Breeding Report lists mare(s) that do not meet ApHC bloodline requirements, mare owner information titled, “Unknown/Unregistered Mares – Hardship Registration” will also be printed.

If your Stallion Breeding Report lists breedings in which one parent is not an ApHC-registered Appaloosa with Regular (#) registration classification, mare owner information titled, “One Parent is Not ApHC-Registered as Regular” will also be printed.

We hope you take advantage of our On-line, pre-printed Breeder’s Certificates/Registration Applications and find the process convenient and easy to use! As in the past, when pre-printed Breeder’s Certificates/Registration Applications are unavailable, blank applications may be downloaded at www.appaloosa.com/pdfs/regapp.pdf.

We’ll be happy to answer any questions that may arise. Please contact the ApHC Registration Department at 208.882.5578 ext. 300 or registration@appaloosa.com.
