2014June145pxThe Appaloosa Journal team announced today that it has been honored with a 2015 APEX Award for Publication Excellence for its June 2014 cover.

Now in its 27th year, the APEX competition is sponsored by Communications Concepts, Inc., which advises publishing, PR and marketing professionals on best practices in print, web and publishing.

Winning among 212 Design & Illustration submissions, the June 2014 cover captured a dynamic, at liberty pose of the 2009 mare, Mustabeen Tuff, “Cheyenne,” owned by ApHC member Laura Weaver of Cave Creek, Arizona, and photographed by Robert Dawson.

Fellow winning entrants in the 2015 competition include: Time Inc. Content Solutions, American Airlines Publishing, Toyota Motor North America, AARP, Ford Motor Company, and T3 Custom/TD Ameritrade, to name a few. The 11 major categories attracted 1,851 entries and the competition was stated to be of “extraordinary quality.”

“This is the fourth year in a row our Journal team has achieved APEX recognition,” said Steve Taylor, ApHC CEO. “We could not be prouder of the excellence they bring to sharing and promoting Appaloosas.”
