2014 Appaloosa World Sale Cancelled

small web bannerThe 2014 Appaloosa World Sale, scheduled to be held October 31st in Fort Worth, has been cancelled. Members of the Appaloosa Horse Club sale committee will be evaluating options for next year and beyond. Specifically, the group is studying appropriate formats and timelines for ApHC-sponsored online auctions and ways to promote private treaty sales at the two major shows in Fort Worth. In the meantime, owners of yearlings that had been consigned to the “incentive” portion of the sale will be given the opportunity to nominate those horses for next year’s World Show Incentive Classes.

Sorry I missed your question. The primary reason for cancellation is a shortage of consignments. As an alternative for some (those with horses at the show), owners of horses that are “for sale” can purchase a glitter ribbon for their exhibitor number card to let people know that the horse is being offered for sale. We’ll also have announcements and, although later in the week than may be optimal, we’ll provide a “preview” session in the arena for horses that are still available on the last Friday of the show.
