Team Appaloosa wins the battle

It was another exciting year for the Battle of the Breeds at the Spruce Meadows Masters Tournament in Calgary. In the last of five events, Team Appaloosa pulled ahead to win the competition. Congrats to Lynn Johnson of Rimbey, AB; Sherry Gresko of Leduc, AB; Laura-Gene Haga and Kaylee McLachlin, both of Red Deer. Placings included third in compulsory skills and jumping, fifth in driving, first in barrels and second in trail.

We’ll have a follow-up story in the Journal that will include a photo-documentary about preparing for and participating in the battle.
