Appaloosa World Show test negative

We received word from the diagnostic lab at UC-Davis that the “suspect” horse at the World Show in Fort Worth is not infected with Equine Herpesvirus 1. The negative test result means that the World Sale goes tonight at 9:00 and a consolidated class schedule will start tomorrow (Thursday) morning.

Thanks to our exhibitors for their patience and cooperation. A huge thanks to the official show veterinarians, the Will Rogers staff, Fort Worth police and everyone who helped make the coordinated risk management effort a good example for others.

On with the show!

Well you said what it isn’t, but didn’t say what it was?

Will there be a revised class schedule and where will it be posted?

Well what was the actual diagnosis for the horse? There are false negatives with lab testing. I am still concerned about the situation without knowing the diagnosis. Thank you.
