Dean and I extend our condolences to Karen’s family. She was an inspiration to us and such a devotee to our wonderful Appaloosa breed. We’ll miss her happy face and her can-do attitude. Our breed lost a true friend and the world lost a great cowgirl.

I am truly saddened to hear that Karen has passed, as I am a longtime school friend, we used to ride together, in the neighborhood, when she had blaze and sargent spec. and I rode sun o gun an oldtime appaloosa. When we were 15 and 16 years old.
condolence to her husband and brother..

Karen was such an inspiration to so many of us! She gave the Big C a good fight and she lived life to the fullest. She will be missed and our thoughts are with Peter. Thank you so much to the Appaloosa directors for putting her in the Hall of Fame as that was such an honor for her. Know you are in Heaven riding those spotted horses Karen!

I cannot believe I’m reading this. I lost touch with Karen when I moved to Ireland to take care of my sister, but before that, we were great friends..my last memory is helping her build her stunning model horse museum.
I’m gutted to read this heartbreaking news. She was so loved…and she will be missed.
