The Appaloosa Journal is now your complete lifestyle source

We are proud to announce that in 2011, we’ll be launching a new year and a new look to the Appaloosa Journal with a series of lifestyle pages featuring Christi Proctor, owner of Moon Rein Interiors, and Shana Gibson of Modern Cowgirl.

Christi, a former designer on “Trading Spaces” and a non-pro reiner under the guidance of Terry Thompson, will show you how to decorate for an upscale western lifestyle.

Shana is a lifetime horse enthusiast and owner of Modern Cowgirl. Her role will be to help you “find your best style.”

I get the Appaloosa journal to keep up with Appaloosas – not to redecorate my house or to change my fashions. Hope you find the audience you are looking for to make more people interested in buying the journal – I don’t think this is the way – a better way would be to put the names of every horse/rider/owner that earns a ROM or Superior each month, random event shots from around the country, and reduce the advertising fees (it should not be more enticing to advertise in other industry magazines price wise). IMHO

I agree- what a waste of space, especially for those of us who do not normally “do” the western thing. There have to be 100 more relevant and worthy topics to cover that are of concern to every day Appaloosa owners.

I agree with both of these ladies comments. Whats next….Martha Stewart ??

The new topics in the Appaloosa Journal might appeal to those who aren’t into the show scene and want to see something in addition to who is getting ROM’s and winning at the shows, etc. It is a big world out there with people who have diverse interests.
