WEG visitors

Roland and Mary Tom Haun stopped by the International Equine Festival trade show for a quick visit. They had been to the Kentucky Horse Park to take in the World Games scenery as well. The Hauns are hosting this year’s Sheltowee Trail Ride starting this weekend at Red Hill Horse Camp near Livingston, Kentucky.

News from the WEG competition includes a rare feat for U.S. Dressage. Steffen Peters earned a bronze medal in Wednesday’s grand prix special — the individual competition. This gave the U.S. its first-ever WEG individual medal in dressage. He was riding the rock star horse named Ravel. According to media reports, the last time anyone from the U.S. won an individual dressage medal was 1932 at the Los Angeles Olympics!

Finals in the individual reining competition are today and the freestyle exhibition is this evening.

Sure looks like a super event and to bad the rest of the country doesn’t have something this spectacular. Thanks for all the hard work it took to get to be a presence there and to those who did the labor and are manning our booth and representing all of us in Appaloosas!
