Going for the gold

trophy.jpgCompetitors at the 61st National Appaloosa Show and the 2008 World Championship Appaloosa Youth Show were pursuing the daydream of winning one of these trophies. It’s always an exciting moment when the name is announced and an exhibitor gets to haul the trophy out of the arena.

Most of us involved with the horse show world have a good idea what it takes to get to that point, but it’s still a staggering amount of effort, time and money. Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Jackson shows. We sincerely appreciate the personal sacrifices you made to be a part of these important events. Thanks for making the trip and thanks for helping us shine the spotlight on Appaloosa horses.

I wanted to contact you, as after returning home I was really upset about all the horrible things on the Appaloosa groups. We personally want to say that we had a good time in Jackson and all of the show staff done a wonderful job. Many times all the good things are often overlooked.I think for the most part the show was what you made of it. There are so many that are running their mouths that were not even there at the show. Others stated that they dropped in to switch out horses for only a couple hours and had horrible reports. I find those things really hard to believe as we were there as a family for a whole week. Again we just wanted to let all of you know how much our family appreciates what you guys do for the club and the breed. Keep your chins up, good attitudes and what a great job you all truly do.
    Thanks for everything,
