Live from Jackson

Local Country Radio, Mississippi 103, did a live remote from the Appaloosa Show at the Dixie National this last weekend. “Miss 103” also provided 30 radio spots over four days surrounding the show inviting folks to come on down to the state fairgrounds and get a preview of the World Championship Appaloosa Youth Show and 61st National Championship Appaloosa Show. We expect Miss 103 to be a publicity partner for the shows in June/July.

I participated in the recent Dixie National show and had a great time. The Louisiana State ApHC fed all the exhibitors a delicious BBQ dinner on Friday night and early Saturday morning they were serving hot Beignets (Cajun doughnuts) with lots of powdered sugar and Community Coffee in the barn. Yummy! The show was large and I had lots of fun riding and showing. Everyone made us feel welcome and all of the exhibitors were friendly and encouraging to one another. Also, kudos to the judges who held up well over two LONG days of showing — the show was much larger than expected with Saturday’s show running from 9am to 1am Sunday. The judges kept their smiles and maintained their professional manner from beginning to end. A big thank you goes out to the six regional clubs who sponsored this show and to all the folks who worked the show and were involved in its production. Great job!

I also want to send a big thank you to the Mississippi ApHC for the booth the set up on the arena concourse — they provided free cookies, hot cocoa, coffee, soft dinks and water to Dixie National ApHC show exhibitors during both show days! This was very, very appreciated!!! The cookies and cocoa kept me going — this was truly one of the most fun shows I’ve participated in — thanks again to all involved.
