The Performance Permit Program (PPP) serves to verify pedigrees of non-characteristic Appaloosas and establishes their right to show in all ApHC-approved and -sponsored events and to earn ApHC race awards. The program’s first year was very successful.
The ApHC issued 596 performance permits in calendar 2007 (our goal/estimate was 600). Of the issued permits, 74 percent were Appaloosa x Appaloosa and 26 percent were Appaloosa x approved breed (crossbred).
