July 4th in OKC

I’m watching the yearling stallion class being shown. Twenty entries (mostly very colorful, by the way) that sure look like good ones to me. We’re encouraged by the fact that several of our international guests have indicated they’ll be especially interested in today’s halter classes. They seem pretty serious about shopping for some new U.S. genetics.

It’s probably not an accident that the ApHC membership meeting is conducted on Independence Day, but I’ll leave it to you for conclusive interpretation. As with most organizations in most years, we have some good news and some news that will indicate room for improvement and that demands a sharper focus.

Stay tuned for some professional blogging from Chuck Zimmerman. He’s coming to the show for a few days to interview our Hall of Fame members and other veterans of the ApHC experience. Chuck will most assuredly provide better photographs than yours truly, so that should help.

All of us involved with the ApHC wish you a safe and meaningful holiday. Be careful, but have fun. And don’t forget to remember to never forget the impressive foundation established by those who sweated the details of creating the USA.

I just want to say thanks for all those who put together the youth team tournment event. I think all of the kids had a good time with the relay events I saw lots of smiling and laughing and having a good time, what a great way to end the youth show !!!!
I enjoyed watching the relay events more than the skits, and I hope that one person will not stop them from doing this again.
It was great fun cheering on our Nebraska team and usually they are so serious when showing so its great to see them laugh and have a great time!!! Thanks again!
