ApHC Website Update

A new look along with some new features for the www.appaloosa.com Web site went live last week. Basic enhancements such as consistent color schemes, easier navigation, and better organization should make the visitor experience more useful and enjoyable.

Of particular interest is the addition of access to show point records for Open horses (youth, Non-Pro, and racing will be added as soon as possible). We are also “days away” from providing access to on-line pedigrees – with the disclaimer noted where appropriate for individual horses that have not been officially parentage verified.

You are invited to take a tour and see some of the changes as well as the work in progress. Thanks to everyone for your support and patience.

*We are also working on a complete re-design of the Youth site.

I love the new changes…the site looks so much more inviting and professional. The ability to check points on-line is great, although I noticed a couple errors, I have to assume at this point you guys are just working out the bugs. The on-line pedigree will be a great addition to the site! Can’t wait to see some great photos on here! Keep up the good work.

I LOVE THE NEW WEBSITE. What a treat to be able to look up your or your horse’s points. It looks great, is easy to use, and I’m going to tell all my friends to take a look. Keep up the good work, guys and gals.

Thank you to the board and everybody else at the ApHC for these new changes. I know the club hears a bunch of complaints but consider this to be a great big Thank You.

. . . Just curious, where is the ApHC with online pedigrees at this point, since this announcement was made on the 1st of this month? Great to see points online, thanks very much! Would be nice if the feature to search by name was functioning instead of having to search by ApHC #. Thanks for all the efforts the club has made with the website this year!

It was time the Website was updated! Wonderful job too!

Will the new “On-Line” pedigree access be free? Or will we be charged? Will it go back to the beginning of the registry?

Personally, I think a small fee is appropriate for this type of access to information. (just sharing my opinion) I also think this is the best thing to happen in the ApHC in a very long time!

On-line pedigree option is now live. Access is intended for members only at this time. You’ll need to set up a user profile, etc. It’s free during the initial phase. At some point, we’ll establish a quota, such as 10 freebies per month (or some magic formula) and charge a small fee for anything above the quota.

Toni – I’m told that you can go to the points “look-up” page and type in the horse’s name and it should work that way. If not, then you will indeed rely on registration number.

Hi Steve and thanks! I discovered that once the youth and non pro points were added to the horse points, thanks!

Thanks also for gettting the pedigree search up and running! Are plans in store to include production information with the pedigree database? I also think allowing something like $10 free a month like AQHA and NRHA does would be a good idea. No reason ApHC shouldn’t seek additional revenue for pulls in excess, though a nice grace period would be appreciated since we have been waiting so long for the online database 🙂 hint hint stomp stomp

    Thanks again!

I honestly don’t remember how long the introductory period is expected to be, but it will be several months at least. And yes, we’re talking about a monthly “allowance” and a fee for andything beyond the basic limit. As for production info, I’ll have to ask. I’m sure it’s on our list of eventualities, but can’t say how far away it might be.
